Seatbelts and Seating

  • All passengers must remain seated while the coach is in motion.
  • Please fasten your seatbelt at all times - it's a legal requirement and for your safety.
  • If you need to move, only do so when the vehicle is stationary and it's safe. If you need to move/get something, please make a member of the event staff aware and they will assist you.
  • Avoid standing or blocking the aisle during the journey.

Emergency Exits

  • Note the location of all emergency exits - these may vary by coach but typically are:
    • Main door (front or mid-section)
    • Emergency exit windows (marked with red handles)
    • Roof hatches (marked as emergency exits)
  • Familiarise yourself with how to open these in case of an emergency.
  • In the unlikely event of evacuation, follow the driver or event staff instructions calmly and move away from the vehicle to a safe location designated by the event staff.

Fire Extinguishers and Safety Equipment

  • Be aware of the location of fire extinguisher(s) and first aid kit (usually at the front of the coach).
  • If an incident occurs, alert the driver or organiser immediately.
  • Note which staff members are first aid trained.

Personal Belongings and Aisles

  • Store bags securely either in overhead racks, under your seat, or in the under-bus storage area before travelling to keep aisles clear.
  • Be cautious when retrieving items from overhead storage to prevent injuries.

Comfort and Wellbeing

  • Stay hydrated and let organisers know if you feel unwell.
  • Restroom facilities may be available on the coach; otherwise, scheduled stops will be made.
  • Use hand sanitiser as needed and dispose of rubbish responsibly.

Behaviour and Courtesy

  • Do not stand or distract the driver.
  • Respect others’ space and maintain professional conduct throughout the journey.

On Arrival

  • Remain seated until the coach has come to a complete stop.
  • Gather all your belongings before leaving the vehicle.
  • Follow instructions for disembarking and regrouping as described by your event group host.

Emergency Contact Information

  • In case of an emergency, inform your market lead, who will notify the trip leader or designated safety officer immediately.
  • Event staff will handle communication with emergency services if required.
